There will be multiple Thanksgiving OVI checkpoints tonight throughout the Miami Valley. Stay tuned to this post and to our Facebook page as it will be continuously updated throughout the day. Here is what we have so far:
Montgomery County: The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the county’s OVI Task Force will conduct an OVI sobriety checkpoint Wednesday night in the area of 7031 N. Main St. in Harrison Township in front of the Beth Jacob Synagogue Area…from 7-11pm.
Kettering: Kettering will be increasing Thanksgiving OVI saturation patrols throughout the weekend.
Clark County: The Clark County OVI Task Force will be operating aThanksgiving OVI checkpoint. The checkpoint will start at 7:00 pm at the 100 block of W. North St. in Springfield.
Miami Valley: Throughout the Miami Valley, along I-75, I-70 and I-675 there will be increased patrols. Many jurisdictions, including Kettering are increasing saturation patrols.
Cleveland: has announced that it will have a checkpoint Wednesday night at Clark Avenue and West 30th Street. It will take place from 11 pm to 2 am.
Lucas County – The Lucas County OVI Task Force scheduled roving sobriety checkpoints throughout Lucas County for Friday 8 p.m. to midnight. Checkpoints will be held at the Central Avenue, west of King Road and another checkpoint at Dorr Street, east of McCord Road. Officers will enforce each checkpoint for about two hours, and then move to its next location.
Medina County – Law enforcement officials will operate an OVI checkpoint on state Route 18 in Medina Township from Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. to Thursday at 2 a.m.
Youngstown -A drunk driving checkpoint is operating on Glenwood Avenue in the city and will continue until midnight, the Mahoning County OVI (Operating a Vehicle Impaired) Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced in a news release. The checkpoint is being accompanied by nearby saturation patrols to intercept impaired drivers and prevent alcohol-related crashes, injuries and fatalities.
